David Kaufmann teaches literature at George Mason University. His last academic book, Telling Stories: The Later Work of Philip Guston, appeared in 2010. His more recent poetry can be found in Gitter Pony and Drunken Boat. He is currently working on a project on the New York School and its aftermath.
