Ian Ellasante is a poet and artist originally from Memphis, where he studied Sociology and Creative Writing before moving to Tucson in 2007. He is currently a student in the University of Arizona’s American Indian Studies M.A. program, completing a thesis of and about poetry. Ian received the Native Writer Award in Poetry at the 2011 Taos Summer Writers’ Conference and was recently published in Currency.
