Jonathan Stalling is an Assistant Professor of English Literature at the University of Oklahoma specializing in Twentieth-Century/Contemporary American Poetry, Comparative Literature, and East-West Poetics. He is also a translator, editor (co-founder and American Editor of Chinese Literature Today), the director of the Mark Allen Everett Poetry Series, and a poet. Stalling’s first book of poetry, Grotto Heaven was published by Chax Press in 2010 and his newest book Yingelishi (Chanted Songs, Beautiful Poetry) came out from Counterpath press summer 2011. Both books explore the space between known and unknown languages and weave a poetry and poetics from the fabric of Chinese and English sounds and meanings.
