John Keene is the author of Annotations (New Directions, 1995); Seismosis, with artist Christopher Stackhouse (1913 Press, 2006); and Counternarratives (New Directions, 2015). He is the translator of Brazilian author Hilda Hilst’s novel Letters from a Seducer (Nightboat Books/A Bolha Editora, 2014), which Entropy magazine named one of its “Best Novels of the First Half of 2014.” He has published fiction, poetry, essays, and translations widely, and teaches at Rutgers University-Newark.
