2. I’m writing with an illusion of method. It’s not my preferred way, but I can at least produce an effect of clarity. Aristotle prized clarity, but as symbol-using creatures, clarity sometimes interferes with what there is to say or see. So for this writing I’ll put the bird in a cage—a nice one—for a little while.
